Our Favourite Places & Spaces To Move & Meditate This Summer

PLACES & SPACES

From our favourite jogging and cycling routes to our favourite way to wake up in the city, whichever way you choose to move or meditate, our pick of places and spaces to invigorate your mind and body this Summer has you covered.

  1. Do Rooftop Yoga at the Shard

If you’re not scared of heights, Yogasphere’s sessions might be just the thing for you! Held in The View from The Shard (aka Europe’s tallest building) on Saturdays from 8.30-9.30am, you’ll be enjoying a 360 degree view over London’s skyline for up to 40 miles, followed by healthy snacks. The Thames Riverside is only a short walk away, so you can stroll or jog through the Regent’s Canal towpath and enjoy the views.

  1. Sun Salutations at Kew Gardens

Making for the perfect sunny day out – pack a picnic of your favourite healthy goodies along with your yoga mat and spend the day taking in the surroundings of one of London’s most beautiful green spaces. Whilst you’re at it, stick around til dust and book yourself a ticket for their Summer festival ‘Full of Spice’ that runs through to September 6th and features talks, performances and workshops.

  1. Meditate in the Chelsea Physics Garden

Restore your inner-calm in London’s oldest botanic garden, renowned for its vibrant array of medicinal, rare and tender species of plants. Try out a walking meditation through the four acre green oasis that is also home to one of the oldest rock gardens in Europe – or sit under London’s largest olive tree and align your senses with natures frequency.

  1. Cycle from Alexandra Gate to Hyde Park

Taking cyclists away from traffic and through some of the cities most beautiful green spaces, The Royal Parks provide amazing ‘green’ routes worth exploring this Summer. Featuring specially designated cycling routes so you can cruise freely throughout the route, be sure to pack a refreshing green juice of choice (we love the Green Lantern) for some hydrating post-ride nourishment.

  1. Join a Running Club

Live in East London? With Victoria Park and the canal at your doorstep, you needn’t venture far to find a great jogging route! So why not join forces with fellow runners and join a free running club in the area? There’s one held every Wednesday, starting at Netil 360 at 6.45pm, just by London Fields, and ending at the same spot where you will be provided complimentary post-run refreshments and snacks.  You have the option of a group 5K or 8K run. For those wanting to go straight from work to pounding the pavements around the west-end and beyond sign up to The Gentlewoman  for their running club here.
