WHAT’S ON: Summertime Events in July and August

WHATS ON SUMMER

The British summertime continues, and with it the variety of fantastic wellbeing and cultural events on offer. There’s music too of course, as it’s festival season – and no one does festivals like the Brits! We’ve hand-picked some of the best happenings across the range so you don’t have to… add them your diary for July and August, pronto!

JULY

Throughout July and August, KITCHEN – Slow Food & Living Market at the Rosewood Hotel: We love a good weekend market! This one is hosted every Sunday between 10.30am and 3 pm and is endorsed by Slow Food UK and celebrates good, clean and fair produce from local growers and artisans – meaning the produce regional, fresh, responsibly grown and harvested, the meat is pasture raised and the fish is wild. We’re huge fans of the sense of community and traditional vibrant, marketplace feel. www.rosewoodhotels.com

19th July, WELLBEING – Roman Road Summer Festival: If there’s one thing we love, it’s scoring unusual finds at local markets! If you do too, check out the closing day of this festival, as there will be a craft market with some of the best local produce around including our very own Mai Vi, who you may recognise #FromtheShopFloor – she’ll be selling her beautiful artisanal hand-made soaps under the pseudonym ‘Organic Freak’. Plus there will be Asian food feast, magicians, Bollywood dancers and stilt walkers. Victoria Park is only down the road, too if you fancy  a rest afterwards. www.romanroadlondon.com

4th July, KITCHEN – Hemsley + Hemsley at Sea Containers: Calling all foodies! We highly advise you to take a trip down to the Mondrian Hotel on the 4th of July, as healthy chefs Hemsley + Hemsley will be teaming up with award-winning Brooklyn-based chef, Seamus Mullen, to create a transatlantic menu on the day for brunch and dinner. Not only will the food be delicious, but the location by the river is utterly enchanting. www.morganshotelgroup.com

7th July, WELLBEING – The Art of Breathing Workshop: Want to be more in control of your life? Start with your breath. This transformative workshop, hosted by our resident yogi Michaela Olexova, it will teach you how you can use and harness the power of pranayama (yogic breathing) to take charge of your body and mind. 10th-12th July, WORLD – GoFest: Looking for a fun day out with the fam? GoFest in Surrey Park, has been dubbed a ‘sporting Glastonbury’ and will be brimming with sport, dance, health and fitness activities. There will be something for everyone! www.gofest.co.uk

23rd-27th July, WORLD – SomerSault Festival: Set against the beautiful backdrop of North Devon, this festival will appease thrill seekers, yoga bunnies, comfort creatures and theatre fanatics alike, with programmes including surfing, coasteering, yoga classes and wild runs. As for music, look out for chanteuse Flo Morrissey – one of our favourite musical discoveries of late (and a natural beauty to boot) and enjoy parties in the forest. www.somersaultfestival.com

30th July, KITCHEN – Hemsley + Hemsley Supper Club with special guests: Our favourite sister duo in the food biz has taken up a residency at Paradise in Kensal Green and have been cooking up a storm. June dates have sold out and July tickets are selling like hot cakes, so grab them here while you still can: www.theparadise.co.uk

Throughout July – KITCHEN – Tiosk: Tiosk opened in Broadway Market last November, but we’ve only had the pleasure of acquainting ourselves with it this summer and it’s been on our map ever since. Their speciality is fragrant teas – from green to white and oolong – but also extends to clean, delicious vegan and gluten free food. Personally, we love the matcha latte and breakfast bircher muesli pots. They also stock yummy raw desserts from The Hardihood. Worth a visit! www.tiosk.co.uk

Throughout July – KITCHEN – The Hardihood: Are you a healthy foodie with a sweet tooth? You’d be delighted to know that there’s a new healthy sweet fix in town, which creates mouth-watering and beautiful delicious desserts, free from refined sugar, dairy, soy and gluten- often raw and vegan. Their creations taste good, look good and DO good. We sampled their maca and peanut butter protein balls at Tiosk and fell in love. Watch this space! www.thehardihood.com
