TRAVEL BEAUTY RITUALS

Ready for your summer holidays? Before you hit the ‘out of office’ button, read our guide below to ensure you’ve ticked off all the essentials for a natural beauty aboard – this list is guaranteed to help avoid any holiday beauty crisis (read: sunburn, over packing, avoiding flight skin).

PACKING

Downsize to an organic beauty travel kit: Unless you’re a naturally gifted packer, chances are that editing down your beauty essentials is the most time consuming part of packing – it is for us! To make things easier (and to travel lighter), ditch your full size natural beauty products in favour of a travel kit or two featuring all the essentials for face, body and hair. Check out our latest and greatest organic travel sets.

Organic skincare sorted, make sure you don’t overlook hair – sea and sun can wreak havoc on your lovely locks! We take a collection of the Less is More Travel Minis, to step up our haircare routine they are the perfect size for a two-week holiday. If you’re headed for the beach, pack the Lindengloss Shampoo, Conditioner and Finishing Spray minis, as they will protect hair from the elements – the Lindengloss Spray has a built in UV protector. We also love the travel-size Harmonic PureLuxe Shampoo and Conditioner, as they work a treat on beach hair and restore softness and shine.

For the sun shy, or that in-between time going from city skin to a sun-kissed hue (ie until you’ve built your tan) apply some travel-size Prtty Peaushun lotion on body and face for an instant faux holiday glow. Pack if in your suitcase too, as it shows off tans beautifully and makes a mean after sun-soother!

As for natural scents, we’ll be packing Hiram Green’s cult fragrances, as they come in travel-friendly atomisers. So we’ll be switching between the elegant and heady ‘Moon Bloom’ and the warm and earthy Shangri-La’ which are guaranteed to turn heads.

IN-FLIGHT

All of us, at sometime, have clocked off for our annual holiday and immediately come down with a cold. Frustrating to say the least. Don’t get caught out this year start boosting your immunity, ideally before, but definitely inflight with Four Sigma Foods Instant Chagathe medicinal mushroom that comes in handy sachets for travel. And just as an extra precaution we always carry the De Mamiel Altitude Oil with us – it’s an anti-bacterial and anti-viral decongestant blend of essential oils, which helps keep inflight bugs at bay, as well as calming nerves and in-flight jitters.

For skin mist this during your journey to keep skin hydrated with Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence. It’s packed with hyaluronic acid, which helps beat the effects of recycled air. Take a carry on a skin balm like the Ambre Skincare Pumpkin Seed and Kokum Face Cream – this can double as a cleanser and will be the best moisturiser/mask on a long-haul flight.

As for food, be sure to keep some healthy food snacks to hand, like the Amazing Meal Sachets which you can add to water, milk alternatives or smoothies. We also rely on almonds to keep energy levels up: the Raw Ecstasy Raw Cacao Activated Almonds make the perfect on- the-go treat!

ON DESTINATION

Landed at your destination? We may sound like a broken record, but stick with us – eat your greens on holiday. One of our favourites tips from our nutritionists is to keep up the dark leafy greens consumption in the sun – filled with powerful, natural anti-oxidants they help with skin repair from UV damage, should you catch the sun.

On the beach, keep yourself protected with a mineral-based sunscreen for body and one for face – we’ve chosen the best ones in our guide to achieving the perfect natural tan. To avoid sun damage, be mindful of how you apply your sunscreen – read our tips for application here.
