GET THE LOOK: Kjaer Weis Does The Spring Statement Eye

Kjaer-Weis-March-LookThe hottest spring trend is all about eyes. Think colour is not for you? Be brave there are several ways to wear it, try a bright bold eyeliner or a wash of pastel over the lids, team it with glowing skin and nearly nude lips for less of the 80’s and more of a modern take on a statement eyes. For March, Kirsten Kjaer Weis shares her tips for a colourful spring look.

To create this look and help keep the skin hydrated and dewy, preparation is essential. A good way to freshen the skin is the Absolution Skincare L’Eau Soir et Matin. This cleansing water is great first thing in the morning, gently wipe over skin on a cotton pad then pop into your handbag to refresh during the day. Follow this with a hydrating floral water such as Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence, before the final step – moisturise!. A facial oil is a great way to moisturise and prime the skin together, super nourishing let it settle into the skin for a few minutes before starting with your base….

Once the skin is prepped apply the Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation. This foundation is certified organic and formulated to give a semi-matte, flawless finish. Use it to even out the appearance of any blemishes or skin discoloration. If needed, layer on for concealer level opacity. Although you can use fingers to apply this foundation we recommend using the Kjaer Weis Foundation Brush for best results.

Next with your fingers, using a patting motion apply a sheer layer of Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in ‘Blossoming’. Smile in front of the mirror to find the apples of the cheeks for that fresh-faced, “just back from a run” look.

For the barely there spring lip colour (don’t go bold here as you are accentuating the eyes) make sure the lips are super smooth and moisturized by gently exfoliating with the lips then prep with a lip balm such as De Mamiel Rose Lip Balm. To get the pinky-nude lip colour seen here, Kirsten from Kjaer Weis  suggests making your make-up do double duty by blending equal parts Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in ‘Blossoming’ and your Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation on the back of your hand and apply using the Kjaer Weis Lip Brush.

Finally to achieve this dramatic, yet simple eye start by sweeping Kjaer Weis Eye Shadow in Cloud Nine from lash line to brow bone to prime the lid.  Next apply Blue Wonder from lash line to crease and blend into the base shadow so the colour ‘feathers’ just past the crease line. Blend again with a fluffy brush such as Ecotools Bamboo Eye Shadow Brush around the outer corner of the eye, so the colour pulls outwards, creating a slightly cat-eyed effect.

For this natural spring look we propose skipping mascara, but fill in the brows with Kjaer Weis Eye Shadow Wisdom Eye Shadow using Jane Iredale Angle Definer brush for a polished finish.
