How to Choose a Facial Mist To Suit Your Skin Type

SPRITZERS

In the warmer months, sometimes nothing is quite as revitalizing as a spritz of your favourite natural and organic facial mist to cool you down and rehydrate a parched complexion. Below we reveal the best facial mists to suit your skin type, great for taking away on holiday or keeping in your handbag for an instant dose of skin-nourishment when you need it the most.

For acne prone skin: De Mamiel Dewy Facial Mist

Formulated to help skin return to its natural state of balance – De Mamiel’s Dewy Facial Mist contains prebiotics which are thought to help maintain the delicate balance of skin flora present on the surface of the skin. Data is beginning to show that the topical application of these living ingredients may promote skin healing and may in fact help relieve skin conditions such as acne.

In addition to the living qualities of this restorative mist, we love the featured flower essences of Serenity, Linden Blossom and Bee Orchid, included to imbue a sense of peace and calm alongside the suggested spritzing ritual which incorporates deep breathing to not only soothe the skin but the spirit too!

For dehydrated skin: Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence:

Comprised of a unique formulation that replenishes the skins natural moisture, the star ingredient of Tata Harper’s Hydrating Floral Essence is hyaluronic acid, a key component of supple, youthful skin. Derived from fermented root vegetables, the hyaluronic acid within this skin rejuvenating essence penetrates the skins layers, plumping the cells and supporting the skin’s natural hyaluronic production. Once this process occurs the skin is able to hold on to four times as much moisture, preventing skin from drying out throughout the day and assisting in the prevention of fine lines and wrinkles over time. Better still it is so moisturising, oily skin types may be able to use it as a moisturiser.

For dry skin: Amala Hydrating Toner

Featuring one of our all time flower favourites, the jasmine flower, this rehydrating toner in a handy travel sized bottle is great for those who suffer from dry skin. It provides antioxidant protection, soothing floral waters and plant extracts to comfort the skin. The ingredients featured are all sustainably sourced from Amala’s global farm network where fair trade growers cultivate, harvest and distil each ingredient within its native habitat to ensure potency and purity of the highest quality. Utilising a custom water distillation, this age old method ensures the healing properties of the whole plant ingredients are retained and optimised.

Great for use on an airplane thanks to its ability to combat dryness that can occur from recirculated air, we also make sure to keep ours on hand in our beach bags to counteract beach dry skin.

For sensitive and eczema prone skin: Pai Toners

The skins natural ability to fight infection and environmental stress is directly impacted by the pH levels of the acid mantle of the skin. This protective layer is made up of sebum (free fatty acids), excreted from the skins sebaceous glands and mixed with lactic and amino acids produced by sweat. If pH levels are disturbed through internal (the ageing process) and external (environmental factors), the skins acid mantle experiences a breaking down, which may result in skin conditions such as dermatitis, eczema and rosacea. Pai’s Toners contain ‘living waters’ extracted from the  Flowers which have been formulated to the exact pH of the skin to help coax it back to its natural state.
