THE LIST: Things We Are Loving this January

Vintage- Backstage PrepFind out what made us tick this month: from our favourite reads to hot events on the agenda that we don’t want to miss (and you shouldn’t, either).

THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH: We love this feature. Other than just the sheer beauty of the images and moving story, we found that it made us ponder the legacy we all are creating everyday – not just via possessions, but how we live our lives. How would you want to be remembered if time stood still? Click here to read.

INSPIRED BY: Some of the most beautiful and effective natural beauty products are inspired by indigenous cultures – see new brand to Content Dr Jackson’s Natural Products – so we love anything that celebrates them, including the stunning project Before They are Pass Away’. Acclaimed photographer Jimmy Nelson travelled across 44 countries to record the lives of indigenous cultures and tribes before the disappear. A feast for the eyes, that really got us thinking about the magical losses of this fast-developing world. Click here to read

BRAIN FOOD: Learning is truly one of the greatest joys in life, so we love a good course, seminar or workshop that we can fit around our busy schedules. We think that the short evening course ‘An Introduction to Psychology’ at the Royal Institute will be an extremely interesting topic to explore, seeing as the human brain determines who we are and how we act as individuals. Also handy trivia knowledge, no doubt! Book a place here.

OUT & ABOUT: Everyone that shops at Content knows that the place is fueled by raw cacao (in the form of delicious chocolate hearts). So we couldn’t contain our excitement when we found out that Ace Hotel is holding ‘An Introduction to Raw Chocolate with Laura Coexeter’. Laura will show you us to make your very own decadent, beautiful chocolates, using only the finest, Organic and Fair trade ingredients. Book us in! Details here.

PLANNING AHEAD: If you can make it past this recipe for Chocolate rye muffins – yes, your January cleanse is nearly over! – you’ll find details for an exciting Yoga and Healthy Cooking Holiday with Green Kitchen Stories in Lisbon. Taking place in April over the course of a weekend at ashtanga yoga institution Casa Vinyasa, it also includes an optional food photography workshop, for all you aspiring food bloggers out there! Check it out here.

BOOK CLUB: This month we are reading I am Malala. The story of fifteen year old Malala being shot by the Talibans in 2012 and surviving her ordeal made headlines around the world. Here, she shares her inspiring story of courage and her quest for freedom and education in everyday life. A moving account. Her strength will inspire you. Find it here.
