THE LAUNCH: First UK Store Launch for Aurelia Probiotic Skincare – at Content!

LAUNCH-Aurelia

It’s no secret that we love a great British beauty brand so it is with much excitement that we announce the first UK store launch of AURELIA Probiotic Skincare. Some of you may already have spied the range online and instore at CONTENT and even sampled a few of the products. But what makes this range special?  We spoke to founder Claire Vero about the launch, ingredients and her top tips for healthy skin….

What led you to create the AURELIA Probiotic Skincare range?

Working alongside the very best dermatologists in the world and utilising the most advanced and up-to-date solutions created by leading pharmaceutical giant GSK, led me up to understand the importance of scientifically proven skincare. I was also meeting patients with serious skin concerns caused by inflammation within the skin, ranging from eczema and psoriasis to dry skin and premature ageing, it was clear that reducing this inflammation was critical to achieving and maintaining healthy, youthful skin.

After discovering probiotics, which balance the skins immune system, I was inspired to create a skincare range which would harness this next generation science but also be created using the some of the most natural and organic ingredients available. It was essential for me to create a range that avoided all the nasty ingredients so prevalent in much of today’s skincare. I am proud to say Aurelia is free from: synthetic fragrances, parabens, mineral oils, silicones, sulphates, propylene glycol, phthalates, GMO, PEGs, TEA and DEA.

We all know probiotics are great for us internally, but what benefit for skin do they have when used topically?

Probiotics are incredible used both internally and now topically. When utilised effectively in skincare they can help prevent accelerated skin ageing working in the most unique and scientific way. Aurelia Probiotic Skincare’s technology has been developed by a leading biotech and uses immune modulatory glycoproteins from bifido bacteria to generate targeted responses. Probiotics work on cytokines to stabilise the skin’s defence system. They do this by maintaining balance (homeostasis) within the adaptive immune system ensuring the skin is optimally responsive looking radiant and healthy with a luminous glow!

There are some lovely natural oils used in the AURELIA range – what are your favourites and why?

We source many of our oils from Africa through fair trade and sustainable sourcing. Essentially we use botanicals rich in precious antioxidants. Two of my favourites are Mongongo Oil and Kalahari Melon Oil. Mongongo is a deciduous nut-bearing tree found in the seasonal dry lands of Namibia. The bright yellow oil pressed from the seeds contains high levels of vitamin E and linoleic and eleostearic acids excellent for skin protection. It is effective not only in hydrating the skin but also for restructuring and regenerating the epidermis. The seeds of the Kalahari Melon offer a high yield and moisturise, regenerate and restructure the skin. Kalahari Melon Oil is rich in essential fatty acids, especially linoleic, oleic and palmitic fatty acids. Not only does Kalahari Melon Oil contain numerous antioxidants but the texture of the oil means it is very easily absorbed by the skin and an essential part of our cell repair night oil for this very reason.

The Aurelia Miracle Cleanser has gained a cult following amongst both press and bloggers. What is your must have product?

I love all the products! Our Miracle Cleanser is a truly fabulous cleanser. My other favorites are the Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser which instantly hydrates my skin with the smallest amount and provides the perfect base for make-up without using silicone based primers. I can’t leave out the Cell Repair Night Oil which is truly a blissful and relaxing blend packed full of unique oils from all over the world, it really is an overnight luxurious treat not to be missed.

What is the best way to create your own Aurelia regime?

Firstly, introduce the Miracle Cleanser to your routine in the morning and evening. All skin types will see amazing results immediately. Then progress by adding the Revitalise and Glow Serum which gives your skin a probiotic boost and can be used alongside your current moisturisers. To fully experience the probiotic benefits enhance your routine with our Cell Revitalise moisturisers. Our Cell Repair Night Oil is an absolute must for those wanting an additional hydration boost and lasting glow.

Regime for Oily/ Combination Skin – Use the whole range but alternate night moisturiser with our Cell Repair Night Oil. Don’t be afraid to use a facial oil it will rebalance your skin and control sebum output.

Regime for Sensitive / Dry or Mature skin – Use the whole range but you may wish to use the Cell Repair Night Oil nightly under the Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser to offer optimum hydration and balance.

What are your 3 tips for healthy Skin?

  • One: Effective cleansing is the foundation to truly great skin this includes using a muslin to gently dislodge dead skin to allow your subsequent products to absorb into fresh cells and be more effective.
  • Two: Learn to layer your products depending on your skin’s needs and seasonal changes.
  • Three: Take the time to massage products into your skin stimulating cell turnover and encouraging lymphatic drainage and collagen production.
