Reading this post has reminded me about two RMS products I purchased hoping they would be creamy & easy to use. One was the un-cover up (the idea is perfect) however mine is very dry/firm making it difficult to use without dragging the skin. I wasn’t sure if this was supposed to be the texture. I left it on the radiator for a few minutes which made softer & easy but remembering to do this when in a hurry became tedious, hence I haven’t used it since.
I also have the lip/cheek which isn’t the balm texture as I had hoped. Both products would be beautiful if only they were softer. I should have contacted at the time but just left them aside thinking I had made a mistake & they didn’t suit me but reading reviews reassures me they are good products although no matter how much I would like to use them the texture isn’t easy or balm like it’s more solid & I don’t have naturally warm hands to melt the products, perhaps this is why they seem dry to me. Would love to know if the textures are meant to be creamy & if it’s ok to warm them in order to use without dryness.

    Hi Bev

Thanks for your comments. We spoke to rms for you and they gave us the below tips.

‘They are very temp sensitive, especially in these cold months and due to the nature of being an organic base. I’m here in the South (US) and mine are still like that in the early mornings right now.

Ideally you need to sort of ‘get into them’, similar to a hard balm, the surfaces are harder on the top due to the pouring method which causes the oils on top to make a natural protective barrier…just warm them up with her hands – I swirl my finger across the top a few times to warm it up with my own body warmth to get them up and running…..’

Hope that helps – I’d also recommend watching the brilliant London Make Up Girl’s video on how to use them. This is a blogger who knows her stuff and is unaffiliated.
