We asked Polly’s for her Rules to Live By…..
We all know Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but the temptation to skip it can be great if you are in a hurry. What’s your favourite quick-start to the day?
I like to start the day with a hot water and lemon to boost my metabolism, wake me up and alkalise my body. I then make myself a green juice which is the perfect way to start the day followed by a bowl of chia seed and homemade nut milk topped with superfoods. One of my favourite juice recipes is …
- 3 romaine lettuce leaves
- 1/2 lemon, peeled
- 1/4 cucumber
- 1/2 green pepper
- 1 green apple
How do you move it? Tell us what you love about your exercise of choice.
I like to use my rebounder to get my lymph system pumping and feel energized. I also love to do yoga as it helps balance my mind, gives me focus and keeps me feeling fit and toned. If I can’t get to a class, I will pull out my mat at home and throw down some sun salutations and postures.
You have won a week in a destination of your choice. Where would go and what are your 3 must visit places when there?
Right now, I’m dreaming of an exotic holiday so I’ll say Bora Bora. I would book onto some hiking trips to see the landscape, go snorkeling and partake in some local traditional activities.
What or who makes you smile?
My 2 Maltipoo puppies, Molly and Mimi make me smile because they are cheeky and mischievous. Being around my friends and family naturally makes me happy and smile.
We all have little rituals that make life better. What’s yours?
I like to journal when I wake up which allows me to get past all the brain fuzziness we are so often afflicted with in day to day life from over thinking. This makes space for my day allowing me to focus and create a productive day for myself. Exercise is also a ritual for me as this provides me with balance and makes me feel good as well as motivated. Drinking green juice and eating a clean green diet is also really important for me as the way I eat really affects how I feel physically, mentally and spiritually on a daily basis.
If you had to choose one, what would be your Rule to Live By?
Trust that everything happens for a reason; to find strength in the challenges of life and use them to improve yourself and your experience while on this earth. Positivity and belief are key.
